woot woot

I must say that it has definitely been a super sunday for me and of course Manchester United who have recently been crowned the world clubs champion after beating Liga De Quita in the finals thanks to Wayne Rooney. Wow! That must be one of the longest sentences i have ever constructed! I have just got home from what i must say one of the most delightful outings with the girlfriend and Lilo. We did the usual window shopping. Although I must admit that it definitely felt like retail therapy, the fact of having to resist ourselves from spending, the evening has definitely been pleasant. I love you guurrrllfriieeendd~ :P

The past two days have been dreadful for moi as I have been sleepless. Why? HICCUPS!!!! For two straight days, 48 long hours, 5 large bottles of mineral water have been finished in the fight against the hiccups. How is it actually cured?? Now that it's over, i'm still wondering 'how did I get rid of it?' Oh well, at least its over.

Prior to the outing we had today, we were enlightened with the United Glory in Japan! :) Now im witnessing Liverpool against Arsenal with hopes for entertainment. Let the battle of the midfield captains be a thriller. Gerrard v/s Fabregas, now who would be the one to shine tonight :)

WAKE UP!

You wanna know one thing that sucks?

BOREDOM! I am at my peak of the degree of being jobless. I have been looking for stuff to do around the house and even outside the compounds of this residence and at this point, I have pretty much covered everything. From taking out the trash to cleaning my room and even cleaning my football boots. The unpredictable weather pretty much makes the scenario worse. Outdoor activities are limited to only football. We have been contemplating to just plan a barbeque planning with the peeps in school but taking chances on what is supposed to be a sunny day has been such a gamble.

Here is the weather forecast for today...
Morning: Sunny..
Noon: Partly cloudy and MAYBE showers wherever you might be...
Afternoon: May Continue to rain but if you're lucky, just cloudy...
Nighttime: Stay in! Heavy rain and thunderstorms...
P/S. For clarification, take a peek out the window.

Well, the parents have returned safely from their Haj Pilgrimage and we the rest of the household are certainly delighted to have the house back up to its normal noise level. The father with his sneezing that can shake the house and Mother with the chit chatting on the phone that may drown the Television volume. And for that fact, I am not complaining. I am just worried for the fact that I might doze off in the afternoons which i am trying to avoid. Simply because, I should be sleeping at nighttime!!!!!

I feel so.....

...SUPERLIGHT AND SUPERSONIC! :D

Later at 4 pm sharp, BC5 will play against RBA(I think). Its been a while since we've actually had a match, and now i cant wait till kick off. Its gonna be LEGEND.....(wait for it).......DARY!!!!!!!
Because the last time we did kick balls with these dudes, we won, and we are hoping to repeat the same thing, but that will probably be pretty much just words since we'll probably be quite rusty considering the rarity of matches and training we have. But who cares, i'll probably end up having fun, regardless of whose the direction the match will go. I feel awesome, TRUE STORY!

*monotone*

My right eye is Pe´toüt an -_-. And I need an eye patch for a couple of days. Well, some of you must be wondering what it is but i'll leave it to you for figuring out. Because if I simply spell it out, some of you might come up with unreasonable stupid analogies like 'peeking in the shower' or whatever. Anyways, I am just bored out of my mind.
Its the holidays, well only a couple of days into it and I am already exhausted just thinking of things to keep me company for the whole month. Of course, I am thankful that the exams are finally over but at times like these you'd rather have assignments to handle than just lay around watching TV. Especially when there's nothing good to watch. Hmmm..
Apart from the extreme boredom I have to endure, there's also the dreadful wait for the examination results. Haiyoo, I'd rather not think about it, but the subjects keep popping up by people asking 'How'd you think you do?' Seeeriously give a brother some room here. You guys are tempering with psychology.
Any of you have any suggestions on tv series I could watch i've just finished watching Chuck. ;) Yvonne Strahovski~ :D

ON HIATUS......

....FROM STUDYING!!!!! XP

hahahahahahahaha just felt like using the H word :P Anyways,.. i'm currently having my exams and the papers im having in the next two days are the bitchiest of them all. At least i think so, I am going crazy studying for these courses. But there's one thing about me that people should already know by now. Before an exam, I tend to smile or joke around more. Which most of my mates see as unacceptable, but its just the way I roll. Ya diiig~?
Anyways, HOME is the hardest place to study i think, so I tend to stay over at uni till late. And I gain a lot more than I usually do at home. Regardless whether I do it alone or otherwise. But anyways, people tend to ask each other before entering an examination if they are ready. I only have one answer to that.....

'LIKE I HAVE A CHOICE???!!!' :P

I miss football :(

i feel so...

I have been mourning all day long. I have to let go of something i have been holding on to because of unavoidable accidents. Stupid Stupid Accident. I still cannot let go of the fact that..
I am very very upset and I admit that i've never been this upset. EVER!
Something that has been helping me in my studies and leisure time. Sigh.. I still can't smile. Even when i know It wasn't my fault. Still...
'I FEEL SO MAD.I FEEL SO ANGRY, I FEEL SO CALLUSED! SO LOST AND CONFUSED!'

F**K MUSIC. :(

BUANG STRESS

Sigh~ tonight has officially been my most productive night, in terms of studying of course. And i am just here to spit s**t out of my mind. LOL! I feel so gangsta saying 's**t'. s**T~
s*&T!( There i go again!) S%$T! nyeeeh~

Well, I guess the reasons why people blog could be; to blow off some steam, to show off, to b***h about people, bored or simply talk to people who ain't there. Well, considering its the examination season, i guess i can see this as a form of practise for my writing. Either that or its just one of those times I feel like talking without wasting my precious voice ( yes! precious! :D). I need my voice for the Bathroom Idol 2008! VOTE FOR MOI! Tonights song was the male rendition of Mariah Carey's My All. Got good feedbacks! ;)

Oh besides that I too have my own band called BabyZ. Thanks to Guitar Hero World Tour, the band is adored among fans. Our music is suitable for all ages. And hell yeah we rock! :D Too bad I have to restrain myself off the game for a bit, and my review on the game is that,'IT KICKS ROCKBAND's ASS'!

Another stress reliever, is taking pics. When we study, some of us take occasional breaks for the toilet, for a smoke or even just small talks. But some of my colleagues enjoy taking pictures more. The photobooth application on my mac is ver very popular amongst these undergraduates. Especially Emma Wemma Bemma is such a nuisance when it comes to unattended laptops. It took us ages in trying to find the villain responsible for the constant depleting of our hard disks' free space. But now, she's got her own lappy to mess around with, so EMMA! LEAVE DAISY ALONE!!!!

And Temari baby~, CHILL OUT Okay?:) ily~

Take it Slow

I am just getting on blogger.com to test myself on some stuff i know with regard to my current courses. Exams are in less than a week. It is okay to show off that I am partially ready for it provided that I really am. I am just going to face it, nothing will be enough! I have come to the conclusion that it is IMPOSSIBLE to achieve 100%, but it should not stop me from giving 110% worth of effort. Here we go~..

The SPN21 21st century remedy~?

The importance of Government role in making sure the well being of the public is very vital. One may choose to acknowledge the governmental efforts being put into it for the sake of knowing but at the same time has very little knowledge on how much effort and cost has been given up by the system in order to achieve sustainable living conditions for its public. A government should hold the interests of the public domain for particular reasons. These reasons are made as public as possible for the acknowledgement of the governmental systems effort.

It is important for student to understand the various institutions involved in the policy making. The policy making process is made up of a number of steps. This set of procedures are vital in the policy making process. And in this various institutions with respect to the interest they hold in these policy execution arenas execute procedures. Hence, we can see that these institutions need to be in synergy in order for the smooth process of the execution of policy.

In the 21st century, the globalized world has brought about new challenges to policy configuration. Certainly globalization provides a whole new diverse chain of problems towards to policy-making arena. In policy-making, the appropriateness of approach is vital for the success in policy making. Policy-making bodies have to recognize the arena, nature of the problems and whom these problems affect.

Hill (1993) recommended that the basic orientation should be compatible with different implicit models of a policy process, leading to different strategies for analysis and its application. Another issue that has to be identified is the pros and cons of a policy. The relevance of a rational system problem is no longer that simple. The variety of problems is more complicated than previous centuries. In the context of globalization, states unite in many ways.

Even the problems faced have taken a new direction and this somehow affects the area of policy making subjected to different concerns. Generally speaking, globalization has altered the nature of problems addressed by policies. The 21st century has brought to us new areas of concerns. Three of the most dominant areas are in the areas of economic, technological advancements and environment. This paper will identify the global economic challenges and how Brunei has altered the local education system with respects to the challenges brought about to diversify the economy.

In attempting to tackle this 21st century challenge, Brunei Darussalam has decided to approach the aim by tackling the root of the development. Brunei Darussalam is a small country in Southeast Asia whose income is highly reliant on the export of oil. His majesty’s Titah has been repetitively concerning the direction of the country underlining with full transparency the importance of economic diversification.

“…as outlined in His Majesty’s Titah, means high thinking culture, in the sense that quality human resources are not only designed to produce knowledgeable individuals but also those who possess pure morality and are ever ready and capable of facing the challenges of life in the wake of globalization. “(LEGCO meeting 2007)

Human Resource development has been one of the important aspects in development of the state. Brunei Darussalam sees education playing a vital role in the development of human resource. His Excellency the Sultan has highlighted education having an important role that can lead to prosperity to the Brunei economy. Hence has lead to drastic policy changes within the local education system.

The education system policy direction has always been to generate future employment for the current youth. Brunei Darussalam has come to an understanding that the problem is not merely producing employment opportunities but to also address the 21st century demand for a diverse range of skills. The ever-improving range of technological advancements is in need of specialists in order for Brunei to develop in this.

From January 2009, the SPN 21 has been introduced. It is the new education policy that will bring about drastic changes to the previous education policy. It is driven towards developing the human resource in Brunei to meet the 21st century needs. The SPN 21 is the national education system for the 21st century is seen as a revolution towards the previous education system. This policy has brought about three changes towards the education system in the form of structuring, curriculum and technical education.

The main aim of the new education policy is to meet the needs and the challenges in the economic and social to in the 21st century. It has been idealized to realize the vision and mission of the Ministry of Education. It is geared towards the essential skills in this era and fulfils the Strategic Plan in Education (2007-2011).

In terms of structural change, it recognizes the importance of vocational education. Despite it being the information and technology age, the state should not ignore the development of vocational education. In the 21st century, technical skills are vital for development in other sectors of the economy. Specialization in these areas should not be taken lightly as not all of the population is interested in furthering their academic studies. It gives a chance for technically skilled future workforce to mobilize in their respective fields. The diversity in the labour market should be targeted and in this respect the Ministry has been driving towards it. The introduction of more vocational institutes creates a more conducive environment in order for this reform to be supported.

The SPN 21 also alters the curriculum by adding in a number of subjects in the learning of the students. It comprises of 8 fields of learning, namely Language development, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, Traditional Arts, Technology, Religious Knowledge and MIB and Physical education. The introduction of new subjects function to implement essential skills such as communication, Science and Information technology knowledge, work skills and also aesthetic skills. The introduction of such areas of skill development is to assert values that have been identified as necessary in the 21st century. Such values are self-confidence, to develop a sense of courtesy, individual independence, Integrity, patriotism, competitiveness and to inculcate a sense of awareness towards the dynamic economic environment.

One of the main targets of SPN 21 is to develop its human resource to be knowledgeable in the areas of Information, Communications and Technology. The Ministry of Education emphasizes on the important of Technology based knowledge to be internalized by the students. The involvement of technology in the current nature of work tasks is ever increasing. Technological advancement is continuously progressing and to have substance in this field would definitely be an asset to the nation. Technology based skills are getting more and more important in today’s workforce. It is no more a specialized area but in terms of technology diffusion, its involvement is very much wide.

The new education policy is however only at its infant stages. However the government and the ministry of education should identify the challenges in implementing the SPN21. The drastic alter to the current education system will need readjustments. These readjustments are in the wider forms and involves both parties either from the receiving end and the party that will be carrying out this policy. The educational institutions need to be in synch with the ministry itself for the execution of the SPN 21.

The SPN 21 is viewed to be ‘one size that fits all’ in the areas of enriching human resource development and in terms of budgetary allocation, it would have to be increased as implementing the SPN 21 would bring about more technological improvements for the equipment in the educational institutions. Retraining the teachers would also be an issue of budget, as the teachers would have to change their approach of teaching. Sending them to higher institutions would be costly.
So the question of sustainability of the policy still remains, and that is where readjustments will be made according to the affordability of the government to promote human resource development.

Its time again

The hardest part about writing an essay is....STARTING. Trust me, from the amount of essays i've written this semester, I KNOW the hardship that one goes through in starting an essay. To have initiative to just start is just like looking up a mountain, still contemplating whether to climb or just lay at the foot. But unfortunately, in terms of the writings ive done, we don't really have much of a choice.
Everyone wants to open up with a 'WOW' statement, just to make it sound promising. But when nothing fits, The worst case scenario:
'Everyone in this world has a hobby. I have a hobby.' <---------Classix~

After the introduction, the pathway has been pretty much set. *Sigh* I have 7 more intensive writing to do. The examinations! Wish me luck! :)

Aspirations

'HECTIC' that's one word that can be used to describe the uni atmosphere. Well, the workload has definitely taken its peak on each and every one of us. I am suffering from side effects of essay madness. This afternoon, i have submitted my last piece of coursework, 15 pages of it. I have come to a point where I am actually sick of MICROSOFT WORD. Back to back essays have been evaporating us off every drop of caffeine we've been consuming. And not only that, for the past two weeks or so, my tobacco consumption peaked. And exams are just around the corner.

We're just waiting for the whistle to blow. By this time, you would think that we would be going through intensive training, and no more assignments. BUT unfortunately, SOME people do not believe in giving some space for us students. A last minute presentation and A WRITE UP!?? After all the writing i've done, i am DE-motivated! DE! DE! And seriously,..WHY WHY WHY , QUESTION MARK QUESTION MARK QUESTION MARK! There is nothing sexy about how visible the vein on my forehead is..-_-

Some of us have decided to 'change'. In what sense you may ask. Change should be good. In this case we are talking physical. 2 of my course mates are currently undergoing the Britney Spears Workout Plan. The muscle aches never stopped them. While they are going to extreme ends in meeting their goal in the time span of three months, The rest of us act as obstacles. Dont get me wrong we have been supportive, but we're just giving them their fight. We are here to just make things interesting.

To escape between the horns

Its the 30th October already, and I see nothing funny about it. By next week i have an accumulation of 14000 words of writing to complete. All of it has to do with the governments conduct in making this country a better place.

I shall say that the papers will be analytical and I have an imaginary skeletal framework in my head and it is working out well. Don't get me wrong, I have started and lets just say I am in my 4000th word. It is just that, it can be very annoying when you're thinking constantly changes as you progress. Ideas are developed continuously and it affects the structuring of my flow of thoughts.

So how do you eliminate dilemmas of such forms? Not rushing it would mean slowing it down, and to keep on going will somehow rush it.

In need of sleeping pills

It's exactly 3.21 am and i'm doing this instead of being on a date with my girlfriend in Paris. Still being up at this time and having a lecture at 8 a.m. is just not smart. Lately i've been running on reserved battery power in uni. Considering it was the fasting month, it's ok to have deficits in terms of sleeping time. But since, it's already over, I would love to recover the loss back, and it has been a while since I had my very very deep beauty sleep. To me, sleeping is like being abroad on holiday with no ticket reservations. I was planning to be in Paris tonight but I guess i missed my flight.

Last night's trip was a great long undisturbed holiday.
Yesterday, I was really tired and last nights beauty sleep made up for it. And now, i'm tired again. I'm in need of a neck massage, a spa treatment and other things along those lines. I guess it's the time of the year where my exams are getting closer and my brain is all over the place. Well, maybe it just happens to me. Somehow, I think that it is not the late night study time that you've set that keeps you awake all night, but the realization of having to study extra. At times like these we never think the amount of information we possess is enough. Thus, my interpretation of students' 'automatic adjustments' of the body clock.

I'm thinking of skipping school tomorrow, but I know I wont. Please give me just 2 hours of sleep. It sucks when even my Economic readings can't put me to sleep. This is messed up!

1ST TIME BERAYA SAMA ALAI BEB!

As an opener, I would like to announce my dislikeness towards the mosquito species! They are annoying little bastards but what do we all do, we applaud them! And we say the reason for the hand clapping, is so that we could kill them. And why do i use the word 'applaud'? Its because of how they seem to like it and they keep coming back for more! And in the progress, we also slap ourselves for more too. Reality check! They drive us nuts.

Today marked the opening of Syawal, in other words, Eid Mubarak, and in our Malay culture the celebration of hari raya aidilfitri commences. This is my first one with the girlfriend and I am undoubtedly happy about that part. I hope im not the only one who feels that way. Seriously, it's a date set and to be remembered for every Muslim couple. Its the point where they say:
'ooo aisehman, first time beraya sama girlfriend nie ah'

And the reply for us Bruneians would always be:
'eeeh Mestilaaah braderrrr!!!'

And i missed out on how pretty she looked today, seriously! Rugi ku inda kerumahnya. I couldve kidnapped her for SB! MAIN POINT IS: ALAI WAH!
Oh last year's raya was the first time i met her, so yeah. :)

Air and noise pollution are the usuals as a result of the activities surrounding the festive season of Hari Raya. The firecrackers keep on coming up till late at night. At one point i was awaken at 2 am. KIDS AND EXPLOSIVES~!

Anyways, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Maaf Zahir dan Batin :)

Giorgie's Sugar Factory~

Hello everyone!!! Having a sweet tooth! Well, i'd love to introduce to you a cure if not something that will make you want more of the sweet stuff. CUPCAKES ?COOKIES? YOU NAME IT! Click here for more info

dozE-conomics

In utter disbelief, i proudly announce that tomorrow is officially the last day of uni before we head on to the mid semester holidays. It definitely will lift some weight off my back. Now, the reading on the scale has gone down and evidently puts some smiles on the faces. However, it doesn't mean we're free from the workload assigned, it just gives us time to cool down. A sense of breaking out as we all might want to put it, just for a split second. I've missed this. The state of having a lot to say, but i'd rather blurt them out here.

Regardless of my university courses being a core, minor or an option, it still requires us to work ourselves away. Let me lay it out to you in pieces the courses im currently involved and formally registered:

1)sp2217: Government & Politics
2)sp2216: Public Organizations. Practice and Theory
3)sp2220: Social Policy and Development
4)sp2222: Foundation of Policy studies
5)ms2109: Foundation of Information Systems
6)ek2223: Microeconomics
7)ek2224: Macroeconomics

In some ways, these courses do have a certain degree of inter-relation. How? They all require me to work my ass off(Forgive my language). Being a policy student, involves a lot of reading and requires me to be well read. I was advised to minor in Economics by someone. And come to think of it, i do hold a certain amount of interest in Economics, it's tools and mechanisms.

This interest in my view can be manifested into some form of link with my major subjects. That is of course on the basis of my knowledge. And so far, it is safe to say, my background in Economics was not as sufficient as i thought it would be. My calculations failed me in terms of the aggregate knowledge i have on Economics. But then again, i hope my competitive nature will make up for this sense of being incomplete as far as economics is concerned. It is hard to hold on to that little Optimism i have in me when I can't make sense of 60% of the graphs ive drawn. Hmm

Let me put it this way, in terms of knowledge in Economics, the DEMAND & SUPPLY are not in equilibrium. The amount of output does not correspond with the amount of labour as input. And in Microeconomics, I can't seem to find my indifference curve for my satisfaction. Every night has been economics for me.

Wouldn't miss it

With minimum realization, we have entered the last 10 days of Ramadhan. The typical bruneian household by now would be busy with preparations for the upcoming Aidilfitri. This does not exclude my beloved family, but the parents of course have neglected the notion of being 'too busy' with it. Making time for the family and to strive for the highest spiritual level in this time of year has always been the priority. After all, it does only come once a year.
Another typical Pasai geng Ramadhan ritual is, towards the end of the Holy Month, we tend to break the fast at restaurants rather than at home. This in a way, brings us much closer to each other. Of course the downside of this would be the missing of other family members who are abroad. The empty seats are irreplaceable as the delicacies can never replace the voices and laughter of the remaining who are missing.

Nevertheless, Ramadhan has been filed with serenity in the household. The introduction of the new family member Zara and her loud cries did not disrupt this, but it made it a more meaningful one.

The Rule

This is a post that I somehow will make an effort to relate with the political environment of my country Brunei Darussalam. The role that i've been ignoring for the past few months has now been initiated, finally.

POLITICS in BRUNEI??? They say the situation here is ZERO POLITICs

Under the rule of His Excellency, we the citizens have undeniably been living a very wealthy subsidized life. By subsidized, i'll highlight the fact that we are enjoying the luxury that others slave(work) for with minimum price. Some may beg to argue but this is the nature of this so called 'Kingdom of Unexpected Treasures'. The theme representing this country to the likes of the global tourism industry is indeed being backed by one fact. The fact that a lot of locals tend to ignore, the luxury the global population would love to enjoy, that is.. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TAX. Who is there to tax in this place? hmm? :)
Back to the subsidized lifestyle of Bruneians, I will now proceed to what I meant by minimum cost. Food? oil? bla bla bla.. You name it! Throughout the nation's lifespan, these 'basic' necessities are government subsidized, in other words the government often ignored as being the politicians of the country have been paying to meet the local needs. In this sense, like it or not we pay only a LITTLE amount for these things that we categorize as necessities. Point is trying to be publicized currently by posting the actual amount that the government is paying for oil subsidees at local gas stations. The posters are too huge for us to be ignorant. In the case of food, the rice we consume, little of it is locally grown. Only 3 percent of it is ours. THREE. How much does the pinch affect us when the price of these 'NEEDS' are booming globally. Who are we to complain when the nature of the global oil market is indeed on the brink of exploding? So we might say, this is an advantage to all of us for the fact that we produce our own oil and gas. TECHNOLOGY opposes the fact that oil and gas are still THE fuels for energy. Technology advances are in the middle of making oil 'redundant'.
Therefore, the local board is emphasizing the importance of education. And although this provides a sense of meritocracy in the development of human resource, we forget we are paid to go to school. Who decides this? Executives? Legislatures? or the Judiciary? they all come back to the 'political actors' of the country.

Still think Brunei is nil in Politics?

2. He's the first guy to put a flower in my hair x)

3. He's the first boyfriend to bring me out for sungkai.

:)

This opportunity is taken to welcome the Holy Month of Ramadhan and once again to wish the worldwide Muslim community Happy Fasting in this month of blessings. Ramadhan is the ninth month in the Muslim calendar and has it's own significance that is recognized by all Muslims alike. Fasting in this month is one of the five pillars of Islam. And I hope collectively, we all will execute this obligation in a perfect manner for none other than to gain the Almighty's blessing.

Kids at Home

This is Baby Zara, 5 days now, and adapting well to the world and life around the house. She seldom cries but when she does, I, in the neighboring room end up waking up in the middle of the night. But it's all good for now. Because as she's continuing to grow, she will see the likes of these two rascals below pretty often and would be joining them I personally don't think she has a choice considering the two girls are always hovering around her crib in her early days. But as Zara's uncle, I have one little advice for her, SAVE YOURSELLFFFF!! :P

At the tip of my tongue

I have teamed up with my group of lecturers to become cruel towards myself for the sake of attaining the 20 units that I've decided to take for this semester. In addition to policy studies, i've decided to stuff my timetable with 2 more ingredients, both from the field of economics. But all the subjects agree on that one matter that we all strive for. 'EFFICIENCY'. Easy to pronounce, but that's way more than i can say than applying it to work.
I have 50 pages in hand, all black and white. PLUS a couple of books to help me do a review on the development of Social Policy. Stressing myself is nothing but fun fun fun! Just in case you guys were wondering why am i blogging instead of doing some intensive reading. I'm just warming up my brain by talking to an invisible audience. It stimulates my brain. In a couple of minutes or so, i'm taking it to full throttle.

Today is Bapa's 63rd

Today, the 2nd week of the new semester was welcomed with open hands by me and the rest of the crew. How? By showing up a couple of hours early before our lecture. We have developed a totally new approach to our lectures this semester. I have chosen to see this as an inevitable change where we are finally entering and exploring the cores of our courses. Now, 2 hour lectures aren't seen as a form of torture but more of like the accumulation of questions in our heads, which i find fascinating and fun.

I seriously think lecturers should stick to the appointed time though. A lecturer was dwelling on for about 1hr and 45 mins on what was originally an hours lecture. Please don't get me wrong, it's not that by doing so the topics become boring, but students tend to lose their attentiveness. Eventhough this should not be the attitude possessed but it is just impossible to ignore a cranky stomach. My apologies to the Doctor conveying this particular lecturer, because as interesting the subject was, it seemed impossible to keep writing when it feels like someone is scraping the walls of the inside of your tummy. ISN'T A LECTURER'S AIM TO KEEP THE STUDENTS ALIVE?? But even so, im looking forward to the next lecture. :)

From here, a birthday wish to Anuar Mohd a.k.a. spikehunter. It's tomorrow but its always good to be early right ?:D Happy birthday!

But for today, it's all about my dad. Happy Birthday to Bapa! I f you want the best dad in the world, you can't have mine ;)

UNGENEROUS

Today was the second day of uni and it has been an experience that lies down right in between stressful and a smooth sail. It's just the beginning and i am not going to jinx it. In my course, we are digging in deeper in the area of politics and the study of attaining good governance. Social life in Brunei, as usual has been quite controlled from my point of view. In reality, the area of Social Policy has been a well kept secret. I don't know whether that i have been ignorant or it was meant to be hidden from public eyes, but there are some cases of extreme neediness in Brunei. Whoever said EVERY SINGLE one of us are living with the luxury of subsidized oil and food? We do have hardworking social workers trying to keep in the contact with the people who away from the focal centre.

Straying away from the first paragraph of this text, I would like to point out one characteristic that we all should agree that every single individual owns. It is what we Bruneians call 'KARIT'. It's simply 'Stingy' in English, or in some contexts 'SELFISH'. I personally think it is ok and may even be good when one possesses this KARITness but given the right scenario that he/she is faced with. But it's the unreasonable KARIT that bugs us. And it's the unreasonable form that really creeps up and makes your heart feel like its crumbled. And most of the time it initiates anger. It isn't hard to identify when one is being unreasonably KARIT. You'll just know it.

coming back to the first para...

And when there are too many of these people running around, the gap between the rich and the poor widens! :D But isn't that what you all are striving for?

If It Kills Me

I so very miss Uni for that I have been living through boredom. Well of course not ALL the time, but a large fraction of my two months++. It is safe to say that the holidays have been very very unproductive. CVs given out but no offers received. No calls for jobs. But at times, i drop my mom off and thats when I get some air to breathe and loiter around just to regain a little sense of having a life. And the banning of smoking in public places doesn't help at all, which makes me settle within the confinement of these four green walls.

In 2 weeks or so, I will have something to do. And being that the case it wont necessarily make me happy, but at least I'll be getting rid of boredom. And all smiles for that! :D And of course another reason for happiness is that Temari will be around the University compound. Although we shall be minding our own businesses most of the time, i know that wont stop me from running over to her faculty when i'm having occasional 'missing her' hours.

And maybe i'll be missing out on some things in her days when her course starts, but at least it'll be a lot fewer than usual.AWESOME! :)

What Really Grinds My Gears

You know what really grinds my gears? It's on those crucial moments, there's always something that interrupts. It is when you are most hyped up about something, the tail of the pony gets pulled the other direction. How do you like that?

My brain was pumping an unusual secretion(it's a good thing), and electricity took it away. Or at least in this case, electricity was taken away. The day has been very annoying and I can't wait till school starts.

15/07/08

Yesterday was a great day for me, eventhough my view of the day has no relevance to any part of it. Yes it was His Majesty's 62nd birthday. Semoga dilanjutkan Usia Baginda. Amin.

15th July is also the Lady's birthday, Ma'am, Mem besar, my girlfriend, or whatever you wanna call her. Being a guy, you must be out of your mind to get everything neat and well planned for her to cruise and enjoy the day. You may say that is not applicable to every single human being with a peepee. For just one day, I'd love to be that Party Planner as you see on the Discovery Travel and Living channel.

But anyways, nevertheless, the Lady trusted me with the responsibility to keep the day alive for her at least. And I tried my best single handedly handled the celebrations without balloons and paper plates and cups. Only left to my devices. THE CAR. Oh well, so much for that Party Planner wish. Instead of the car, i had imagined it to be a pumpkin cart, or a scooter. That would turn out well. ;)

This girl has a knack for taking pictures. At least i think so. She's such a good poser. So my next two hour ambition was an established professional cameraman. But all i've got is a 2.0 megapixel camera phone. This was a bliss, as after owning the phone for quite a while, i have finally discovered it's camera functions. It even takes macro shots and colour effects. STEADY! PHOTOSHOP NO MORE!

Finally, i was beginning to wonder if I had enough in me to keep her patient, because she was starting to get all grumpy due to hunger. I could actually hear her tummy rumbling. I admit, i feel terrible for not having any candles for her to blow and it was already 10. Keep it cool, we were waiting for the rest of her family to emerge. And somehow I knew something was up that they were planning something. So, i had to keep trying to speed up the clock by taking more pictures. At least ya ani melayan. Until....

SURPRISEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! :D

The decency to..

It's so bothering how the smallest thing can tick you off, or just be refreshing. It only takes a word or a couple of them from a person. These few words should be there when conducting a few things. It's not an obligation to, but it makes the opposite person feel pleasant, and certainly makes them more than pleased to perform certain things from you. But of course, this does not apply to criminal behaviour. It's just nice to, and rude to not.

We all should have the decency to say...
1) 'PLEASE'.. I f you want someone to get something done, this word is best applied, provided with the right tone and facial expression. One will not have to feel that it's an obligation but it will certainly enlighten their heart to commit, where he/she may feel that they are needed the most.

2) 'THANK YOU'.. This reflects one's habit. Although, the 21st century has connected a totally different intent to this conduct, as in most think this saying is suitable for sarcasm. Being thanked for something brings about one of the nicest feelings one could ever feel. One may not deny that. It shows that your doings and good deeds in the form of favours for another person being acknowledged. It's IRREPLACEABLE!

3)'SORRY'.. You don't lose pride here. That's a common misconception. We all should keep in mind that, provided the right time and situation, saying sorry does not mean that you have raised the white flag, but you won in abolishing the war that was in the way.

We are all still learning. :)

Are you trying to put me away? Trying to Make my non-existence more convincing? I hate you and the things coming out of your mouth. Its making me smaller than I am. In the eyes of a person i care. Do you wanna force me out?

Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! You don't know what it feels like to not be seen, to be invisible most of the time. I know I am second best, so why rub salt in this wound. I know this is not worth it but its killing me. Is this gonna last. I bet you! You're gonna hurt more than just me if this keeps up.

Don't ask

Hot and Hotter!

I have just completed watching the DOOMSDAY movie and i must say Rhona Mitra is indeed something. By something I mean she roars like no other. In the movie, she's the leading actress. I may not think it is a must watch movie, but nonetheless still, HOTNESS! ;)

But, inda melawan yang ani lah. Penyanyi, pelakon yang growing ! I say she doesn't have any problems in digging out her natural talent. It's just out there! And she has been nurturing it without realising. I think it's the sweetest thing.
